Spiral sliced ham is a type of slicing method that has been around for a little while I think. Instead of cutting the meat from top to bottom, they cut the meat in a circle. So the slice would look like a circle [with the middle missing where they bone would be]. It is normally sliced in half before they give it to you. 

It's a great way to slice it. It preserves the meat and juices in the meat better.
