heroes never die, they just reload

subtitle: an open letter to sylvester stallone.

stop. stop making films. stop remaking the great characters of the 80’s. stop ruining great franchises. i’m referring to your feeble attempts (in the past 2 years) to show that “you really can act”. ultimately you have nothing new to show us as an audience.

case in point: rambo

this is by far the worst yet. after desecrating such genius a character as rocky, you now move on to completely kill all respect and red bull & vodka inducing testosterone that came with the original rambo. sly we ain’t drinking your kool-aid. now instead of whipping around an m-16 or ak-47 like you got a pair we are forced to watch your flabby body ripple while using a tripod mounted turret gun. i wanted to puke watching this trailer. in fact, i’m not even scared of rambo the way i used to be (in that he’s the boogeyman on crack that will come out of the bushes and cut your head off if you are late for curfew).

the choice of music: superb. bodies by drowning pool is great. the ‘crazed-ex-warrior-working-for-the-suffering-and-machine-gun-challenged’ is a nice angle but it’s just not the fierce rambo we knew and feared. stop, please just stop.
